The schedule is online
Please take: About 900 programme items, distribute them over four days and around 90 venues, ensuring a diverse and yet perfectly compiled mix of contents every day. If you have a closer look at these ingredients, you will get a rough idea of the amount of work that actually lies behind the brief announcement “the schedule is online”.  From now on all festival and professional guests can start planning their individual Reeperbahn Festival programme.
Here you will find the schedule.

Premieres of Get Well Soon, Bear’s Den and David August
As an international music platform, Reeperbahn Festival with its numerous and diverse venues, such as the Elbphilharmonie or St. Michaelis main church (Michel) is the ideal setting for premieres.
This year’s festival line-up also includes three extremely recommendable premieres, supported by the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media.

Get Well Soon “Nightmares”
St. Michaelis main church, or “Michel” in common parlance, not only is one of the most characteristic landmarks of the Hanseatic city of Hamburg, it has also been a Reeperbahn Festival venue for four years. Its spectacular nave is the ideal backdrop for the world premiere of “Nightmares” in which Konstantin Gropper and his band Get Well Soon (DE) will present the unique and exclusive realisation of the orchestral songs on his current album. Apart from the opulently staffed Get Well Soon big band with a string quartet and a brass section, the Tunisian singer Ghalia Benali, the Canadian artist Sam Vance-Law and the Australian singer-songwriter Kat Frankie, i.e. all the guest singers of the album, will be live on stage. The venerable Arp-Schnitger organ of the Michel will also be played at this world premiere – by none less than Gropper’s father Walter Gropper.

From Hamburg’s century-old landmark to its latest one: The Elbphilharmonie will be the venue of two world premieres at Reeperbahn Festival:

Bear’s Den & Paul Frith “Fragments”
Without doubt, the London band Bear’s Den (GB) (photo) is one of the best indie folk bands on the British Isles. Its consistently exquisite songs come alive through Andrew Davies’ voice as well as the interplay of acoustic instruments and grating e-guitar sounds, creating moving moments. With “Fragments”, developed in collaboration with the British composer Paul Frith (Radiohead, The xx), the band will present re-arranged songs from their two existing albums “Islands” and “Red Earth & Pouring Rain”, accompanied by a pianist and a string ensemble of ten.

David August
The Hamburg composer, DJ and sound engineer David August will show that electronic music can also work in a supposedly unusual environment: When he performs, clubs and concert halls merge into new spaces – and the live realization of his multi-faceted compositions sound fantastic in digital set-ups, with ensembles or even symphonic orchestras! After working intensively on new music compositions, David August will stage his first concert since 2016 in Germany exclusively at Reeperbahn Festival! His pieces, specially arranged for this performance, can be experienced with an individual light show on the Elbphilharmonie stage.
