16 artists, labels and projects are on the shortlist for the first and only critic prizes of the independent music industry in Germany: the VIA - VUT Indie Awards. Alice Merton, Gewalt, Neufundland, Wargirl and Wolf & Moon in the category Best Newcomer, to only name a few. For the 7th time, the VUT (German Association of Independent Music Companies) honours outstanding talents from the independent music industry. The awards are based on originality and quality and not on commercial success. The award ceremony will take place at Reeperbahn Festival.
