The Next Generation at Training day

As part of the Training Day programme on the Festival's Saturday we will for the first time especially aim at young people between the ages of 16 and 21 in cooperation with the digital youth culture festival TINCON and the cultural project TONALi. Basic knowledge of music and cultural management will be conveyed sparking dialogue between the established industry and the next generation to inspire young people to take an interest in the professional music business.

Speakers like Milena Fessmann (Managing Director, Cinesong, DE), Richard Wernicke (Head of Content Central & Eastern Europe, Deezer, DE), Fayzen (Musician, DE), Carly McFadden (Artistic Director, Folk On The Rocks/DevilDuck, CA), Robin Shaw (A&R Manager, Four Music, DE), Prof. Jens Michow (President, BDKV, DE) or Niloufar Behradi-Ohnacker (Co-Founder, Blogrebellen, DE) will share their knowledge.

The programme includes the areas of self-marketing, the live and touring business, training and further education as well as gender equality and sustainability in music in around 40 events like:

In the talk YouTube ist das neue Indie (YouTube is the new Indie) the collective Cyber Gen (DE, photo) will speak about the foundation of a completely own label in which the artists themselves are A&R, creative directors and publishers. The Sound of Influencers deals with the influence of Instagram, TikTok, YouTube etc. on music marketing, young music publishers will talk about the work of publishing companies and brand manager and co-founder of Blogrebellen, Niloufar Behradi-Ohnacker (DE) will give a Personal Branding Workshop. Editor Gero von Randow (DIE ZEIT, DE), Stephan Schad (Actor, DE), and Steven Walter (PODIUM Esslingen, DE) will discuss on how political cultural workers are.

Moreover, topics like Keyhole Touring – Are Booking Agencies the New Gatekeeper of the Music Industry?, How do we help or hinder women’s growth in the studio? with Charlie McClean (Producer & Founder, SheWrites, GB) and many different trajectories that can lead to a successful career in the music industry will be discussed – amongst others with Colin Lovrinovic (Managing Director, Gould Finch, Humming Records, DE), Vivien Mierzkalla (Label Manager, Secretly Group, DE), Robin Shaw (A&R Manager, Four Music, DE) and Katharina Horn (Head of Producer Management & Sync, NEUBAU Music, DE, photo). A talk about Songwriting Strategies and a Steps Ahead! – Listening Session will give insights into the creative business.
