Press Release

almost three and a half weeks before the festival begins, we can once again announce 28 newly confirmed acts, among them illustrious names such as FOALS (GB) or Dean Lewis (AU).
Wunderkinder – German Music Talent, the Reeperbahn Festival music export programme, will be in the seventh round this year and will give selected German bands and artists the uplift they need on their way to international careers by providing them with the right contacts from the fields of publishing, labels and live entertainment. The Wunderkinder programme of 2019 is now set and we would like to give you an overview of participating acts.
There is good news on the full overview of the complete programme of Reeperbahn Festival 2019: The timetable will be online from Thursday, 29 August!

FOALS, Dean Lewis and 26 newly confirmed artists and bands
On the final lap shortly before the festival begins, 28 more acts have been added to the Reeperbahn Festival 2019 concert programme.
With FOALS (GB) (photo), one of the busiest and most independent bands from the British Isles will be attending: Meanwhile known to everyone who is even marginally interested in indie rock, the band has once again succeeded in saving the relevance of guitar-based music by presenting their two current albums "Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost", Part 1 & 2.
You will currently hardly find a more meteoric rise in the category singer songwriter than that of Dean Lewis (AU). His single hit "Be Alright" and his debut album "A Place We Knew" turned the introspect romantic into a global phenomenon within just one year.
Charlotte Lawrence (US) published her debut EP "Young" at the age of 18, thrilling her audiences with great live shows right from the start – her current publication "Why Do You Love Me" shows that her highly modern songwriter pop has a few surprises in store for the genre.Trap beats, crooner vocals, a charmingly cool production and rap skills galore KeKe (AT) makes it clear how it is possible to have one's completely own sound while convincing in a man's world with feminist themes – we want more of this, please!
If everything fits, the crowd on the dancefloor will take off collectively: The Hamburg synth trio RSS Disco (DE) knows about the power of precisely dropped beats and smartly placed tunes, gearing their live shows directly towards the planet ecstasy!

Also confirmed:
DJ STYLEWARZ (DE), Sorcha Richardson (IE), Sylvie Kreusch (BE), Alfie Templeman (GB), Happyness (GB), Krush Puppies (GB), Benjamin Amaru (CH), Donna Blue (NL), Jeangu Macrooy (NL), junk-E-cat (DE), Someone (NL), Rondé (NL), Aparde (DE), Dirty Deep (FR), Just Mustard (IE), Bitch Falcon (IE), Seed to Tree (LU), Taxi Kebab (FR), MAZ (LU), Black Bones (FR), Jackie Moontan (LU), Fairuz (DE, MA), Fred Red (DE).

Wunderkinder – German Music Talent 2019
The Reeperbahn Festival export programme Wunderkinder – German Music Talent is in the seventh round and will present the most promising German acts of 2019 who show extraordinary international potential. The participating artists will get the chance to perform on one of the major European music events and to meet international talent scouts from the fields of publishing, recorded industries and live entertainment.
The plan to provide a steppingstone from the Cologne edition of Wunderkinder, carried out for the first time in 2019, to Hamburg was successful. Half of the ten artists and bands performing in the course of the promotion programme at the c/o pop Festival on 02 May and 03 May, namely Amilli, ELI, Gianni Mae, Moli and Sofia Portanet, will now be present at Reeperbahn Festival.

In the past, German newcomers such as GURRLeoniden, Ilgen-Nur, ROOSEVELT and others participated in the Wunderkinder project. In addition, international Reeperbahn Festival showcases with the bands Giant Rooks (Los Angeles, 2018), Gurr and Leoniden (New York, 2019) were realised.
