Joel Rosenman: Creating Woodstock

Shortly before Reeperbahn Festival starts we are happy to announce the interview session with a legend in the music business: We welcome Joel Rosenman (US), one of the four initiators of the legendary Woodstock Festival that took place in Bethel, New York in 1969 – almost exactly 50 years ago!

In the interview session Joel Rosenman: Creating Woodstock with Steve Blame (Moderator, GB) on Friday, 20 September at 11:00 am, Rosenman will review the events of the summer at ´69 and talk about the continuing fascination of the Woodstock Festival. Later in the day, Reeperbahn Festival will show the new documentary "Creating Woodstock" in East Cinema, a comprehensive documentary about the emergence of the festival.

Also the Summit on Music and the Sustainable Development Goals welcomes with Fetsum (Musician & Initiator, PxP Festival, DE) and Arnaud Boehmann (Activist, Fridays for Future, DE) further interesting speakers.

explore This year's festival village

The Festival Village is not only the contact point for all festival and professional visitors for the registration. Moreover, the Festival Village has established itself as a cozy oasis away from the hustle and bustle of the Reeperbahn where, protected by shipping containers, you can have a break from the buzzing vibe. Discover selected newcomer acts, visit the exhibition of well-known music companies and instrument manufacturers at the new Music Makers Playground and get in touch with brand representatives. Additionally, on the Future Playground with its Future Dome at the centre, apart from the United Nations, various initiatives will present future visions and sustainability approaches.
