ALYONA ALYONA IS THE ANCHOR WINNER 2019


The ANCHOR Jury around Tony Visconti, Bob Rock, Peaches, Kate Nash, Arnim Teutoburg-Weiss and the Australian presenter Zan Rowe visited the concerts of this year's six nominees soul singer Celeste (GB), rapper Alyona Alyona (UA), the punk-pop women's band The Hormones (CN), the post-punk trio Drahla (GB), songwriter Moika (NO), and the dream-pop duo Feng Suave (NL). On Saturday the winner of the ANCHOR – Reeperbahn Festival International Music Award 2019 was announced: Alyona Alyona convinced all jury members with her performance! Bob Rock (ANCHOR 2019 jury member): "I got out of my chair, stood up, almost danced and took videos which I actually don't think I've ever done before. I didn't understand a word she was singing but it came out so powerful. It really blew my mind. And most importantly I would buy her record in a heartbeat."

MEET THE NOMINEES FOR THE MUSIC MOVES EUROPE TALENT AWARDS 2020


On Friday the nominees for the Music Moves Europe Talent Awards 2020 were announced at Reeperbahn Festival. The annual EU prize for popular and contemporary music celebrates emerging artists who represent the European sound of today and tomorrow and is organised by ESNS and Reeperbahn Festival in partnership with various other partners. The following 16 outstanding artists are nominated for next year's awards:
An international jury will select eight winners. From all 16 nominees music fans across Europe will also vote for their favourite artist and will choose the Public Choice Award winner. Vote here.

JON CHAPPLE IS THE BEST MUSIC BUSINESS JOURNALIST 2019

Jon Chapple (photo, right), journalist at IQ Magazine, won in the category "Best Music Business Journalist of the Year" at the International Music Journalism Award. Congratulations! He was chosen via online voting during Reeperbahn Festival thanks to more than 300 participants.

The complete list of all International Music Journalism Award winners including laudations can be found on the IMJA website. The winner of the prize draw (1x2 Conference Tickets for Reeperbahn Festival 2020 plus 4 nights at the Arcotel Onyx) will be contacted via email.
