Press announcements such as this one are currently multiplying from day to day. But, since health remains the prime concern for all, there are no alternatives. As a result of the current health situation around the world, the planned visit by the Reeperbahn Festival International Program delegates to Los Angeles March 22 to 26 will unfortunately not take place. The World Health Organisation (WHO) has declared the new COVID-19 virus (coronavirus) a pandemic, which requires immediate global action.
Unfortunately, this has consequences for our delegation visit to Los Angeles, funded by the German Federal Foreign Office and scheduled for March 22-26. Yesterday evening, the US government imposed a suspension of all travel from Europe, coming into force at midnight on Friday, March 13, and initially applicable for 30 days. We have also received an official statement from MUSEXPO Los Angeles, confirming the postponement of its music conference.
For these reasons, we today had to cancel the planned delegation visit to Los Angeles from March 22-26 in addition to all activities relating to the MUSEXPO partner event.
Our collaboration with the School Night in Hollywood for a joint concert evening on March 23 remains set to take place as scheduled.
We hope that these measures will help to swiftly contain the spread of COVID-19 and that we can overcome this global crisis together through our mutual supportive actions. |
